Help Save Tavern On The Green

Europe has so many old places they've kept. I hope NYC can let us keep more historical NYC places.

My parents had their first date there in the 70's. They fell in love there. TOTG is kinda responsible for making me....♥

Visit here to help support Tavern On The Green's lease renewal.

A grand café overlooking Central Park, Tavern on the Green is one of New York’s most dazzling dining experiences – an unforgettable show-stopper overflowing with crystal chandeliers, hand-etched mirrors, original artworks and stained glass. Nestled in its own magical gardens, Tavern on the Green exists in a fantasy-like setting. No wonder pundits have declared, “If Oz had a restaurant, this would be it!”

A little History:

Jenny Oz Leroy

Built to house sheep in 1870, the building now known as Tavern on the Green became a restaurant in 1934. Forty years later, Warner LeRoy, who had revolutionized the American dining scene with his legendary Maxwell's Plum, took over the restaurant’s lease and embarked upon a two-year, $10 million renovation.

Tavern on the Green reopened in 1976 as one of the world’s most spectacular restaurants, immediately embraced by New York’s glitterati. Now, under the direction of LeRoy’s daughter, Jennifer, who took over upon his death in 2001, it is the second highest-grossing independently owned restaurant in the United States with annual revenues in excess of $37 million; serving nearly 700,000 diners a year.

For a feeling of simplicity

I love what I do this....I love fashion....I love the passion and I love showcasing people who love to express themselves through what they wear. This time no interview...i just want to give admiration to Andrea Alcaide a 17 year old student from Madrid. She graces us with simple poses that pack a mean punch. All a ask is for you to check her out, as she makes a name for herself on the LOOKBOOK scene.... you won't be disappointed

JINX
Seriously, can Christopher Kane do any wrong? Despite my initial discomfort with his use of atom bomb explosions as a motif, I find his ability to find beauty in literally anything inspiring.

Douglas Hannant has a wonderful knack for making beautiful dresses. I don't even wear (or really like) dresses, but Hannant makes me want to.

Want want WANT that dress! It must be so nice to wear.

Impressions of a stylist assistant

I loaded some pictures from my first production as a stylist assistant. Although the shots were more than a month ago and even though my part was very small, I decided it's exiting enough to write a post about it. it was a Production for "At" magazine and the idea was prom night, something very sweet and fun. The day before the shooting I went with the lovely stylist to pick up the clothes and the accessories and even though my job was mostly to carry the stuff, it was really fun and exiting. The strategy was to take as much clothes as possible and not to use all of them rather than not to have enough. At the evening we met the model (who happens to be a friend of the stylist) and did some try-ons in order to decide what she would wear in every shot. The shots were the day after and took place in an high school. They lasted many hours and Although it was a very difficult and fatigue day, this was an amazing experience. Enjoy the outcome, click to enlarge.

Fashion Jinx had the humble opportunity to ask Miss. Elen Lin a few questions, about he amazing style. We've been following Full Clothes for some time...so we hope you enjoy this interview, that's long overdo.
First, did you or do you have any one helping in the creation of your blog?
I started this blog on my own but I will have to credit my family and my guy for voluntarily taking the pictures for me. Tsk.

How do you discribe your style?
Right now I prefer the minimalist look. I used to love loading on accessories but as of now, the weather doesn't permits any form of layering whatsoever.
So everything is kept simple these days. Needless to say, basics are my essential as of late.
What made you start a fashion blog?

Boredom. I had a lot of time then while waiting for my university admission. Many hours were spent on the Internet and that was when I discovered the many amazing fashion blogs. And the rest they say is history.
What do you think you bring to the fashion blog world?
I believe that although some of us dress alike, we don't exactly look the same.
We may be donned in black or floral or studs, to a point that we may look mediocre, but if you look carefully, you would see that each blogger actually brings a different feel or taste to the outfit. Her own personal touch.
How is your style different than everyone else?
I really stand true to comfort. Comfort above everything else. That's my motto.
I can't really say that I have a fixed style because it's always changing. One day I can be in dresses, and the next I will be in my boots. It all depends on my mood and on the weather.

Who or what is your insperation? It's hard to just name one for I have many on my mind! But right now, I'm really into Indonesian style blogs. What impression do you want to leave on the people that visits your blog?
To always be true to yourself. I don't quite follow what's in season because I know that some things that look good on other may not necessarily look that good on me :)

Cheers,
Eleh Lin

Under the sun

Today we did a day trip in the north of Israel along with my family and my boyfriend's mom who came from Argentina to a visit in Israel. (My boyfriend, Daniel, is originally from Argentina and his family still lives there). I took many pictures of the beautiful view and although I tried to avoid the sun , for Argentinians strong sun is definitely an attraction. I'm all burned now. As you can see also the Sunflowers stoop their heads and tried to reduce the exposure to the sun, but without success.

Fashion Jinx has had the privilege to get the scoop, on yet another dynamic fashion duo. Next up, is the signature styles behind We Were Damsels "Nadia and Laritza"

How would you describe your styles?Laritza :I mix vintage pieces with new trendy clothing. I mix colors with vintage blazers or ethic scarves. I really think accessories are my favorite part of my style I love headbands, hats, scarves, and rings. My style is really a product of my music influences I can wear a leather jacket and some shredded jeans and listen to Metallica or the runaways. My style derives from the city I live in as well..NY is a pool of different cultures and creative tastes.Nadia: My style is more about being in the mood for something different, for ex. one day i want to look like a runaway teen or an uptown socialite, and really i don't think it makes much sense to anyone but my self . I just like putting on the clothes and looking different every time i go out . I have an edgy/grungy/quirky look and then the next day i have a posh/prim/feminine look.

What made you start a fashion blog?Laritza:I admired some fashion blogs for some time until Nadia sparked the idea of creating our own blog. What made me really become excited about the blog was that we would get to share our chemistry for fashion with everybody.Nadia: I had given plenty of thought before but i always dismissed it, thinking oh yea who would be interested. Then one day i just mentioned it to Laritza and we decided to do it together. i figured if i failed I'd have her for support and really anything we do is fun . just takes the pressure off of one person .
What do you think you bring to the fashion blog world?Laritza:I try not to look dated but clean cut with basic pieces of clothing with a lot of colors. I like mixing colors and making the right areas I am most confident be the center of attention.Nadia: Just the fact we are different people and no blogger is exactly the same as the other . But also the fact that i happen to know that she has great style that she is original and unique . We are both original and unique and that's the main thing when it comes to fashion and trying to stand out in the blogging world.
How is your style different than everyone else?Laritza:My style is simple I feel sexiest with a skirt and a tee with a blazer to soften the look. My favorite part of my personal style is looking for key accessories to add a quirky spin to my look.Nadia: my style is different because it changes so often and it's not predictable at all . I mix and pair things in a unique way or at least i like to think i do .
Who or what is your inspiration?Laritza:Definitely the music I listen to makes an impact and also people like Daisy Lowe and Stella McCartney.Nadia: My inspiration comes from NYC and people. Music is also a huge part of my life and i love people who have big personalities and are interesting. That inspires my look.

What impression do you want to leave on the people that visit your blog?
Laritza:I want others to feel good about what they wear and dress to reflect who they are.Nadia: I want for people to feel like they know me a little. just in general i am a pretty open person (sometimes too open). I want others to enjoy my experiences with my personal style and other parts of my life. Oh and of course anyone of my readers knows that i love to share music that they wouldn't normally hear. If i get one person to click play then i am a happy blogger.
