It is strange that Skype had not iPad app - you could only use the iPhone app in extended mode - but it seems the wait is coming to an end. There is still no official release date, but Skype should reach the iPad App Store "soon".
The Skype's vice president Rick Osterloh said the app will have the most features of the desktop version, such as chat, audio and video connections, but some functions will not be present - the most notable of these is the transfer of files. They also said that Apple has ever created obstacles for them to offer a competitor to FaceTime - Apple actually supported Skype.
