The chosen one

לאחר לבטים רבים וסקיצות רבות ומרובות עוד יותר, נבחר לו הדגם המנצח לאחר שגבר על עשרות מתמודדים. אפרט קצת על הדגם: שמלה, עשויה משי לבן הנאסף לקפלים באזור הכתף (שתודגש באמצעות כרית כתפיים רצחנית), שם גם מתחילה הצביעה האדומה. השרוול עשוי 2 חלקים - חלק תחתון עשוי ויניל אדום ומבריק והחלק העליון עשוי קופרו - בד הדומה מעט למשי אך עבה יותר ובעל ברק עמום יותר. מספר גוונים של אדום, דומים מאוד אך לא זהים נפגשים במקום אחד, זהו אלמנט שרציתי מאוד שיתקיים בדגם שנתפר. מהכתף ועד סוף השרוול ישנו סטריפ של פרווה שמוכנס בין התפרים. עדיין מתלבטת בנוגע לכיסים בתפר הצד ובכלל הרגשת בלבול קלה מלווה אותי בימים האחרונים. המעבר משלב הסקיצות לשלב הביצוע אינו פשוט והוא בדרך כלל טומן בחובו שלל בעיות שנוטות לצוץ ברגע הכי לא צפוי....

After a great lot of thinking and many more sketches, I chose the dress that I'm going to make. It's gonna be made out of white silk, pleats are gathered at the shoulder and that's where the red coloring begins. The sleeve is made out of two parts - the lower part is made from red shiny vinyl and the upper part is made from a red fabric that is similar to silk but heavier. Three shades of red, very close in color but not quite the same, that's something I really wanted to have in my final design. From the shoulder to the bottom of the sleeve there is a strip of fur, inserted between the stitches. Yet not sure whether or not to have pockets on the sides, besides I feel a general confusion, so many decisions that have to be done. Transforming the sketches into 3d piece is not simple and usually that's when all the problems tend to appear...

Back than we used to call it simply clothes

כשהיינו בכיתה ח', חברתי נינה ואני נהגנו לדבר הרבה על אופנה (האמת שאז קראנו לזה פשוט בגדים) והגענו למסקנה שעל אף אהבתנו הרבה לחצאיות ושמלות אין לנו לאן ללבוש אותן מלבד לארוחות משפחתיות רבות משתתפים בהן קוראים את ההגדה. בכיתה ח עוד לא ממש נהגנו לצאת לבלות ולבית הספר זה נראה לנו יותר מדי חגיגי וגם לא ממש מקובל. חשבנו וחשבנו ובסופו של דבר הגענו למסקנה שהדרך היחידה להשמיש את חצאיותינו היא להתחיל ללבוש אותן ללימודים למרות הכל. קבענו יום ובו שתינו באנו עם חצאית ומאז אותו יום הדבר הפך ללגיטימי עבורנו, ועם הזמן נראה לי שגם עבור אחרות. החצאית שבצילום היא אותה חצאית שנלבשה בפעם הראשונה לבית הספר (בשילוב עם טי שירט אדומה וסניקרס, אם אתם מוכרחים לדעת), היא היתה של אמי בצעירותה ועד היום היא משרתת אותי בנאמנות.

חוץ מזה אתמול היתה ההגשה האחרונה בהחלט שלי לסמסטר הנוכחי! כעת נותר לי עוד שבוע של חופש אמיתי, בלי מטלות לימודיות שטורדות את מנוחתי. מזג האויר התאים עצמו לאווירת החופש הגדול והחליט להתחפש לקיץ (פורים טרם הגיע, חבוב) ונראה לי שאם הייתי קצת יותר חברה של השמש והחול וודאי הייתי מבלה את היום בים.

When my friend Nina and I where in the 8th grade we used to talk a lot about fashion (well actually back than we used too call it simply clothes), we were bothered by the fact that we have plenty of skirts and dresses that we only wear to family dinners. At that time we didn't go out that much and we thought that skirts might seem too fancy for school. After long hours of thinking we figured out that the only way to change things is to start wearing our skirts to school, despite all. We set up a date in which both of us came to school wearing skirts and from that day on it became legitimate for us and I believe that for others as well. That skirt is the skirt I wore on that day (with a red T shirt and sneakers, if you have to know), it used to be my mom's when she was young and to this day I dress it very often.

Blame it on the weatherman

סתיו, חורף, קיץ, מזגן, שמש, צל, רוח... מזג האויר לא ממש ברור בעונה הזו של השנה ולכן הלבוש שלי בימים האחרונים פשוט לא מצליח להיות מותאם לטמפרטורות. אני קמה בבוקר, מעיפה מבט דרך החלון (אני לרב לא מקשיבה לתחזית) ועל פי מראה עיני מנסה לנחש מה יהיה מזג האויר בהמשך היום. אך כנראה שכאשר מתעוררים מוקדם יותר מהשמש ומתי שעוד שוררת צינת הבוקר הניחושים אינם משקפים דבר וכך כל יום אני מוצאת את עצמי בלבוש חם מהנחוץ...
השמלה הזאת נראית לי אידאלית למזג האויר המבלבל הזה הן מבחינת הבד שלה והן מבחינת ההדפס, יש בה מן הקיצי והחורפי גם יחד.
סבתי בחרה את הבד לשמלה לפני שנים רבות והיא נתפרה לה במיוחד, משום שהיא מעט גדולה נאלצתי להוסיף את החגורה, אך אני חושבת שבלעדיה היא יפה יותר.

The weather in this time of the year is very confusing, it often changes from warm to cold and the other way around. I find this dress suitable for both situations, there is a bit of summer in it and a bit of winter as well.
My grandma bought the fabric many years ago and the dress was custom-made for her, I added the belt because it's a bit too big on me but I think the dress is prettier without it.

StyleCard: DeLa Lulu

Kuranosuke Kamachi is on a roll, her ever growing line of shoes and clothing never fail to impress. Today marks the opening of her own sim, and so I felt it appropriate to share a little more of what I love about DeLa. The Lulu dress and boots are full of color, texture and shape, and oh yes, bows! This sculpted mini-dress has a delicious bubble of a skirt, and a fun dimensional bow on the chest. The texture is of a multi-colour flecked wool knit, and so it lends itself well to a great pair of tights worn underneath, these are the tintable freebies from VG Republic (G.L.A.M.).

The Lulu boots are a fun leg-warmer inspired pair, all slouchy and shapely, and yes a couple more bows here for good measure (an un-bowed version is included in the pack). I like the black sole and heel, really completes the look. As for my accessories, the color change fabulousness from Fresh Baked Goods is perfect here. Earrings are 'aya V' and the hair is ETD, and yes get to that sale!

Hot New Release: TOSL Punk Princess

I saw these dresses on Quinlan Quimby's flickr and I went completely nutty over them... and then I saw the completely unique custom shoes that she made to match! I am a long time fan of TOSL and the really special style that Quinlan has adopted, a bit more sculptural than most of what I see, and garments that really use the sculpted prim to full advantage.

The Punk Princess dresses and shoes are sold separately, and come in 4 color variations... shown here are Moonstone and Peacock. The dresses feature voluminous sheer billows of fabric from bustline to skirt and a sweet croc textured belt with jewelled buckle. The shoes come complete with the same jewelled buckle as the dress, and they have a nice moderate platform base with a sparkling gold undersole that I just love.
