how did you come up with the name of your blog: Its how I SEE the world and beyond..JaneMary is also the name of the girl I always draw in my illustrations and the initials of JaneMary: JM stands for Jennifer and Jowy Maasdamme (me and my sister)

when where you introduced to fashion: since forever...fashion and art have always been in my life, my mom has the most beautiful dresses and shoes and is such a chic and unique lady, she draws very well too.

how do you describe your style:

I do a lot of vintage shopping and reconstructing old stuff, I don't like to work the same look for too long.

what made you start a fashion blog:

ya know .. I dont remember what made me start.. I just woke up one day and made my blog..

what do you think you bring to the fashion blog world:

fashion to me is just a very fun time and it doesnt have to be more than that, people all over are hungry for fun..so am I.

how is your style different than everyone else:

Dunno.. I guess I like to capture the idea of fantasy and reality, making sense isnt really that important to me.

how did you come up with the name of your blog? Well there is two of us Maggie and Casey.. so MC's Closet kind of just clicked!
when where you introduced to fashion? thats a toughy...
C: No one in my family really loves fashion like me. But my mom says that when i was 3 years old i would hang outfits all over my room. so i guess it just came to me!
M: No one else loves fashion in my family like I do, I've been designing my sisters outfits since forever
how do you describe your styles?
C: I don't really have just one.. i love the whole vintage rugged look. but also the studded leather rocker look. (those are my 2 favorites!)
M: I have a similar style to Casey, we both love the rocker and vintage side of things.

what made you start a fashion blog? M&C: Maggie had been browsing around, and we both talk about fashion 24/7 so we kind of just put it together!! what do you think you bring to the fashion blog world? M&C: We are trying to let people know that you don't have to be rich and shop at the major designers to be "fashionable". You just have to make something out of nothing! how is your style different than everyone else? M&C: Like i was saying before, we make do with what we have/can afford. so basically everything is one of our own creations. who is your inspiration? M&Chmm, well we love Erin Wasson's and Mary Kate Olsen's laid back syle. Also DVF really inspires us, along with many other famous designers. And of course the fashion that we see on the streets. what impression do you want to leave on the people that visits your blog? M&C We hope to inspire others to create your own style and run your own fashion sense.. make it your own and use what you have.
Who is your favorite designer? Wow! this is hard!! M&C: These are ourtop favorites -- DVF, Roberto Cavalli, Bottega Veneta, Gavenchy, Chloe, and many many more.
what piece is a must have in your closet? probably a black leather jacket, or some item with studs!! Also some kind of vintage boots :) Black jeans are definitely a necessity in a closet.

את תיק הקש הזה קניתי בחנות עתיקות בבואנוס איירס. התיק מאוד שונה ואחר בעיני ומרתק אותי לחשוב מי האשה או הנשים אשר השתמשו בו לפניי, מתי יוצר ואיפה בעולם הוא התגלגל (כתוב בתוית "מייד אין הונג קונג" אך זו פיסת המידע היחידה). קשה לי לומר מה בדיוק הוא מזכיר לי, בדמיוני אני רואה תמונה ישנה בשחור-לבן ובה תיירת אירופאית אופנתית מחזיקה את התיק ומחייכת למצלמה או אולי חוקרת ג'ונגלים קוקטית, אשר שולפת מהתיק זכוכית מגדלת על מנת לבחון זן חדש של פרפרים שטרם התגלה.
בכל מקרה חוקרת ג'ונגלים אני כנראה כבר לא אהיה וגם תיירת אירופאית לא אהיה בזמן הקרוב שהרי בעוד ימים ספורים אתחיל את לימודי במחלקה לעיצוב אופנה בשנקר. אני נעה בין הקטבים, רגע אחד אני שמחה ומאושרת וברגע שאחריו אני שוכחת לחלוטין את ההתרגשות שאפפה אותי בשבועות האחרונים וחשה בעיקר לחץ גדול. אני מרגישה לא מוכנה, לא מאורגנת, לא מצויידת, עוד לא מיציתי את החופש שלי והחדר שלי במצב בלאגן מתקדם, המכונת תפירה שלי זקוקה לשימון דחוף, ואין לי מקום לכל הנעליים שלי (זה לא קשור ללימודים אבל בהחלט מטריד אותי). מכרים ויודעי דבר בתחום האופנה הזהירו אותי שזהו השבוע האחרון של חיי (לפחות כפי שחייתי אותם עד כה) ואילו אני ברגעי אופטימיות דווקא חושבת שהשבוע הוא בעצם השבוע הראשון של שארית חיי, שהרי חיכיתי זמן כה רב לרגע המיוחל הזה, מגיל צעיר ידעתי שזה מה שארצה ללמוד.
כל שנותר לי עכשיו הוא להתאזר בסבלנות, לסדר סידורים אחרונים (כולל תשלום חוב לביטוח הלאומי...) ולבחור מה ללבוש ליום הראשון ללימודים, החלטה לא פשוטה כלל...

I bought this bag in an antique store in Buenos Aires. I think this bag has a very distinct look that makes it very different. I'm really interested in the history of the bag, I wonder who was the owner of the bag, when was it manufactured and where around the world did it pass. In my imaginations I see an old black and white picture of a fashionable European tourist holding the bag and smiling to the camera or maybe a jungle researcher pulling a magnifying glass out of the bag and looking at a very rare butterfly...
Anyway, I guess I won't be a researcher nor a European tourist in the upcoming years Because next week I'll start studying fashion design at Shenkar College of Engineering and Design. I feel absolutely unready to start but there is no time for hesitations. All that left is to wait for the big day and choose an outfit...
