StyleCard: TOSL Quilted Wellies

Last January I was thrilled to be reviewing the incredibly adorable Sweater Wellies from TOSL, by Quinlan Quimby, this time it's a perfect follow-up, Quilted Wellies! Yes they are cute, they come in 6 different fabrications (Ladybird worn here) and come with a tall and a shorter version, lined in sheepskin and complete with a dangling toggle fastener. This has to be one of my favorite casual looks in recent months, like herbal tea on a cool Autumn afternoon, you just can't go wrong with these!

SkyHigh Strap-ups from Stiletto Moody

It's been a while since I tried any semi-artistic photography for the blog, so I felt it was high time... or 'skyhigh' time... to have a bit of fun. As a previous owner of the Stiletto Moody SkyHigh Boots, I was intrigued when word reached me that a new release, or at least a new accessory release, for this great boot was available. The brand new Strap-ups upgrade adds even more wow factor to these already incredibly tall boots, wrapping the entire foot and leg with leather straps in complimentary and contrasting shades.

The Strap-ups feature is incorporated into the existing boot drop-down menu, once rezzing the upgrade package you simply wear your SkyHigh Boots and initiate the accessory, very simple. You do need to own the boots, or purchase the boots and the upgrade at the same time. The boots and straps do come in an assortment of 6 shades, the straps come in 2 slightly different variations, straps with trim and without, you get all 12. You can still choose not to wear the straps even after you incorporate the upgrade. Metal change options; Gold, Silver and Graphite still apply to the overall boot. The mini-dresses called 'Hotter than Britney' worn in the post were found at Style by Simone (Stern). They seemed like the perfect match for these undeniably sexy boots. The dress is available in the Midnight or the Red versions shown here, and can be found at Style Starts Here.

Leaving Buenos Aires

זה היום האחרון שלנו בארגנטינה, מחר בבוקר אנחנו טסים חזרה הביתה. בין כמויות ענקיות של אלפחורס ובשר והרבה שעות של משחקי רמיקוב עם סבא וסבתא של דניאל הספקנו לעשות לא מעט בעיר הענקית הזו, כולל קצת קניות (באמת לא הרבה)

לארוז לנסיעה זה תמיד קטע לא פשוט עבורי ועכשיו לרגל סוף הטיול אני מכתירה את האריזה הנוכחית כמוצלחת במיוחד! אני חושבת שלרב הקושי שלי נובע מעצם הרצון לשלב בין נוחות ליופי, בין הליכה מרובה לנעליים נאות ומזג האויר השונה מהרגיל שכמובן מקשה על הכל. אמנם לקחתי מספר פריטים מיותרים אבל סך הכל בחירת הבגדים היתה נכונה. לקחתי בגדים שמשתלבים היטב אחד עם השני ועל כן היו לי אופציות רבות ללבישה, לקחתי מספר חולצות בצבעי אפור, חום ושחור, כמה קרדיגנים, ז'קט ומעיל, צעיפים שנותנים טון שונה לכל הופעה והכי חשוב, המון נעליים!
כבר מזמן נוכחתי לדעת שכאשר אני לבושה טוב, אני מרגישה טוב ועל כן לאריזה היה כמובן חלק בנוגע למצב הרוח המרומם בטיול.

That's our last day in Buenos Aires. Among tons of Alfajores and hours of game playing with Daniel's grandparents we found the time to travel around most of this great big city.

Packing for a travel is always very difficult for me, and now when it's the end of the trip I can proudly say that this time I did it really well. It's so hard to take only things that would be useful, comfortable enough, yet pretty and suitable for the weather, of course. Although I took a bit more things than necessary, most of my decisions were good. I took clothes that fits one to another, that way I could have as many options as possible, plain shirts, cardigans, a jacket and a coat and a lot of shoes! Long ago I’ve discovered that when I’m dressed nice I feel nice, thus for sure my successful packing had made my mood in the trip even better.

StyleCard: Kalnins Promenade

Yee Haw! I was handed the most adorable short western boots today, the Promenade Boots, the latest from Maris Kanto of Kalnins. Released today, the Promenade boots are one stop shopping for cute fall boots with western flair, one of the 'it' looks for fall. The Promenade have the perfect drop down menu for color change, this include 11 leather shades and 2 metal options - really ideal - and easy to use. They use 2 attach points, one invisi prim and one the boot itself, these will work well with leggings and long prairie skirts, and not with pants that rely on prim cuffs.

how did you come up with the name of your blog?
It's an Iggy Pop song titled lust for life.

when where you introduced to fashion?
I have always been exposed to fashion, whether I was consciously aware of it or not. In fifth grade I was voted 'Most Likely to Become a Fashion Designer' and in my middle school year book titled me as 'Best Dressed.' I cannot exactly pin point when I caught the flame, but I did so in an early age.
how do you describe your style?
Navajo Gothstitute California Raisin School Girl. I adore fringe, leather, studs, stockings, stilleto boots, crucifixes, cardigans, and distressed faded clothing.
what made you start a fashion blog?
I started my blog in 2006 as my own personal online diary cluttered with my thoughts, ramblings and weekend recaps and not really pointed to any direction towards fashion. I simply started it to document the (watered) down version of my adventures. I think it would be nice to have and reminisce through when I was bored senseless...even though everything before 2008 is now private.
what do you think you bring to the fashion blog world?
The real question is what I plan to bring to the world at large! Ha-ha. I'd like to deliver the constantly reitterated expression 'Don't Believe the hype.' Wear what you like and do what you feel. Self preservation is a must, never be so open to embrace every ludicrous fashion trend that comes along just because it's this season's cool.
<span style="font-size:180%;">how is your style different than everyone else?
The myriad of styles I wear is what I'm regularly exposed to. I go see a lot of bands ranging from thrash punk to psychadelic folk-so leather, shredded tee's and fringe boots naturally made its way into my closet. Then again I'm extremely studious in school and love Jane Austen (and let's not forget Audrey Hepburn) which influences me to stick to classics and basics. Also living near the beach causes you to own clothing that will bare skin like no other.
who is your inspiration?
What inspires me is music, the 60's-79' era, the way sunlight pours into glass windowsills, dusk and dawn,and largely every-day people in my life that come and go.
what impression do you want to leave on the people that visits your blog? Never judge based on appearances. There's more to people than what meets the eye.
