Denim For Feet

I love the tipsters, those amazing readers who take the time to IM me when they find something fantastic on their travels. I don't always fall in love with the items that are suggested, but Leila Carroll was spot on with her recommendation about the recently released Denim High Heels at :sey. These super chunky platform heels have a familiar shape, but the texturing by risey Arai makes them a stand out. Not only are they roughed up with some well worn thread bare textures on the upper, the base is a hippy chique carved wood. I love the details, and as a bonus you get 2 color variations with each pack, show here in a teal and fuchsia, flipped both ways.

Be sure and check out the great color combos over at the :sey mansion!

Other stuff; Rockberry Uma Skin, Maitreya Amber Hair, :sey Retro 2 pc. Outfit w/ Scarf, G.L.A.M. Cuffed Denim Capris (may not be available), Acessories by UZURI and (luc).

Playing Footsies

A couple of quick hits that are worth checking out, new releases from AOHARU Walk, J's Shoes and Kookie. Up first is the just born style from Kookie Lemon, Vogue Strappy Shoes. A fresh heel-less foot in shoe platform with metallic leather straps. Easy skin color change with a colour tinted ball that you rez and customize, and a HUD for nail color and the ankle fix options. These are available in multiple colors.

Next up is the attractive Flat Gladiator Sandal from AOHARU Walk. Like the rest of the Luxury Line more cute feet, but these are a flat which is less common. I like all the little details and the join at the leg looks great after minor fit adjustment. A sassy kinda flat sandal for sure. These are worth grabbing in your favorite shade.

Finally is today's release from J's, the Flip-Flap and Barefoot. Of all the foot in shoe styles I have tried I found these the trickiest to tint, but once i got them matched the result was rather nice. I love these flat foot styles and a flip flop is great shoe to have with the foot. These also come with the option of nail colors and can be worn as a bare foot too... which would be nice for photos but will likely need some retouch at the ankle. These come with a pair of cute flowered anklets to help disguise the join point.

Visit Kookie, AOHARU and J's Shoes.

Fun, Fab & Free

When I log on I am often blasted with note cards and IMs, and when I logged this afternoon I was hit with one from a store named Pixelfashion that caught my attention with the words 'Free Shoes'. I was previously aware of Pixelfashion and creator Amandine Arai after spotting a great dress on someone at an event, and I was pleased to discover the shop was filled with some extremely sexy Lingerie too. The footwear also caught my eye, some really cute stuff and some scandalously high boots too. But after TPing over to get my hands on the free-ness I was also very attracted to another pair of sky high wedge sandals called Luna. So here is a look at the Luna and the Sally shoes from Pixelfashion, and if you head over to the shop before April 24th these white Sally Sandals are OMG free! Both styles are available in 18 amazing colors, and there are matching belts for every shade available (nice idea). I highly recommend you check out this store if you have never had a chance.

Hello Ingrid!

Love 'em or hate 'em, the prim foot revolution continues! The latest release in the Stiletto Moody BARE © collection is Miss Ingrid. Ingrid is not a timid girl, she is a sexy as all heck platform with a sweetly beveled shape and a band of contrasting metal accent through the middle. Ample and detailed leather straps, metal rivets and of coarse that sexy sculpted foot make these irresistible to high heel lovers, and reminiscent of late 50's Hollywood styling.

The Ingrid is available in 8 colors, with 2 new shades making their debut in the Stiletto Moody BARE © collection, White Leather and Sand Leather. The full color set is fantastic if it's in your budget, but there is plenty to celebrate even if you can simply settle for one shade. You do get the option to change metals from Silver to Gold, and add or remove Toe Rings on each foot, a multitude of nail polish options, and a few other goodies that are more suited to enhance photography.

The most talked about aspect of the BARE shoes to date seems to be a tie between skin matching and the join point to the avatar body. The shoe comes with some pre-set shades that may match or closely resemble your skin tone, in my case I selected one and then headed over to the 'control freak' menu where I added and subtracted in increments of RGB to get my perfect match, it took maybe 8 minutes to do this to my satisfaction. Alternatively you can enter color shade data numerically, personally I never went this route but potentially if you find your 'magic formula' you could simply enter it on all of your pairs of BARE shoes, a time saver really.

As for the 'join' issue, I am a very satisfied customer in that respect. Anyone who wants to get picky will happily complain about glitches with invisi prims and issues that arise when the avatar ankle is flexed. One needs to remember that these are prims, and as with any prims, unless you have a mathematically exact fit on a non moving connection you will be able to see where the prims join. The same is true of any sandal or boot I have reviewed previously that features a 2nd attachment on the lower leg, an avatar moves and joints shift. Unless you plan on walking around with your camera locked on your big toe, any of the unique issues presented by the foot in shoe are imperceptible.

Finally, I would like to clarify for the curious, I do not in any way retouch aspects of the footwear in my blog photos, edits to my avatar to clean up SL anomalies and make me all purdy is typical, but shoes are as they appeared in SL, no tricks. You can click on the images to see them larger sized if you wish. Thanks for reading! :)

3-Ways and the 'F Word'

Now that I have your attention, we can talk about what is really going on here. Firstly, Miss Tesla Miles has surfaced, and she has brought shoes with her. TESLA will soon be releasing the High Oxfords, and for a girl who has been wearing so many boots lately, I am pleased to review some shoes again. The Oxfords are a great looking shoe too, with a moderate platform, chunky heel and lace-up upper. These multi-tonal shoes are almost chameleon-like in their ability to work with a variety of items in your wardrobe. And they also lend themselves to multiple styles of dressing. I am illustrating 3 unique looks; Classic, Casual & Club Wear... 3 ways, get it? (click images to see larger size.)

With 12 amazing pairs on the menu; Gold, Bronze, Berry, Black, Blue, Chocolate, Jade, Olive, Purple, Scarlet, Snow and Teal, you might just be better off using the F word... Fatpack. I don't throw that word around lightly, but if this is a style of shoe that appeals to you I do not see how you can go wrong. Lovers of slightly metallic colors and hand tooled leather details should be in heaven by the weekend... Tesla's scheduled release for these cuties.
