Still Heeling

 On the heels (pun intended) of Modavia Fashion Week, Donna Flora impressed with her gorgeous jewelry, fashion outfits and gowns, this week Nardcotix presented these fantastic Shana Pumps in a Color Fusion series, which logically made for perfect pairing! I love to celebrate the beautiful things, and Squinternet Larnia of Donna Flora, not to mention the consistently stylish Nardya Rousselot of NX-Nardcotix, certainly give me reason to share!

 As Fall Fashion begins to flood the SL Fashion Feeds, my love of coats was ignited again by this Helena Peach Jacket and chunky turtle necked sweater/skirt combination. An amazing all in one outfit that includes detailed broach on the oversized jacket lapel and  holey tights that up the modern feel of these classic pieces. I added a hot studded satchel by A-Bomb, along with some more  Donna Flora Accessories, the great  new 'Blue' Onyx earrings and a sassy cocktail ring. That sweet skin is a sneak peak of the soon to be released PXL by Hart Larsson, I am sure you will be seeing more of it soon.

The shoes offer sophisticated textures and color combinations, (check them out in-store to see the glorious cerise, aqua and orange... and more) but also offer stylish neutrals that suited the Donna Flora Helena outfit perfectly. Leather, Wool Felt and tinted metal toe caps make a great team when stacked upon that delicious hot pink sole that is becoming a Nardcotix signature.

Whatever your style, most shoe lovers can appreciate the elegance of an ultra thin stiletto heel. Ready for Royalty

Nadja Baxter suggested a last minute Blogger Challenge, to style ourselves for the Royal Wedding... as a Bride, or Bridesmaid, Member of the Bridal Party, or even as a guest. I went with the later, and though I have struggled with inspiration for blog posts lately, this one was perfect for me. So please join me!

The elegance of Donna Flora seems perfectly suited for day or night, Squinternet Larnia, the designer behind Donna Flora, weaves beautiful collections of Gowns, Dresses, Hats, Jewelry, Hair, and yes, even shoes. I was inspired to share one from her most recent footwear release, a full line of gorgeous sculpted shoes, most with foot sculpt and easy to use HUD. I am so proud of this first attempt at sculpting complete shoes by Larnia, many whose talents tend toward clothing or other wearables will opt to purchase pre-made sculpts for footwear, the new Donna Flora footwear marks an amazing leap forward in her personal skills and that is something to be proud of.

I combined an elegant lilac colored Milena Dress with cream colored jacket and oversized bow, trimmed in sweet beaded flowers. The jewelry Ginger also by Donna Flora is reminiscent of royal jewels, large stones in rich purple and diamonds adorn the ears and a large cocktail ring. The shoes, Lila in Ivory, are a soft satin traditional pump with ankle strap, a petaled flower adorns the heel for added glamour. I complemented the look with a hat from Paper Couture, and skin and eyes by PXL Creations.

This Is Love.

I believe in love. No matter how many times love chews you up and spits you out, I firmly believe that there is someone out there for everyone... maybe more than one, or in Second Life... at least a clean half dozen in the average SLifespan. So what does one do when they are faced with the possibility of Valentine's Day alone, or lonely, or both? You go back to what you love, and for me that is blogging shoes, and great fashion and beautiful skins. One of my first loves in SL were the Linda skins from PXL, and Mr. Hart Larsson, that talented and very charming fellow has won me over again with the stunning PXL Linda G3. There is something to be said about a man that can make a woman feel beautiful, and my first gift to myself today was this beautiful skin.

I also love rediscovering old favorite stores, and things that have been sitting in my 'to wear' folder for months and months. This past weekend I happened upon a small shop named CentoPallini, it was new to me and I instantly loved the Valentino Hat, which looks to be molded from dark chocolate and is festooned with bows, gems, more chocolate in a heart shaped box, and cupids arrow skewering the whole works. Easy peasy, gift number two for myself is settled upon. I dug the rest of my outfit out of my many folders of clothing, with a beautiful Veschi Jacket, Maitreya Bodysuit and accessories from Donna Flora. But you know me, and my outfit is never complete without something 'on my toes'.

It was really very hard for me to find something newish to blog, as I have been away for a little while and missed some great things, and it seems that there haven't been many new releases this week (I suspect most of my favorites are gearing up for the next Shoe Fair... more on that soon.) So I started TPing around for some inspiration... I found them at SLink, and yes they have been out for a while, but they are completely gorgeous and I never managed to grab a pair before today, gift number three for me, the beautiful Paloma Pointe Ballet Slippers. Now it seems I am ready to dance my way into the next unsuspecting heart, and I didn't have to wear loads of pink or bright red to do it.

You Can Leave Your Socks On

Having no place to go in SL just got a whole lot better. Onyx LeShelle of Maitreya has delivered another much needed piece of footwear to her many fans, and with the holiday season in full swing, these Scrunched Prim Socks are the perfect remedy to relax in after all those stiletto wearing events and parties.

Gone are the days when going shoeless meant webbed toes or paddle feet in non-prim stockings, we now have some beautiful socks to wear, suitable for men and women, and with the added option of tippy toed and flat options.

Plum Pickings

Donna Flora has a fantastic new home, and I was lucky enough to get a peek at the store just before it was open to the public. It is beautifully laid out making your favorite items even easier to find. The icing on the cake was seeing the latest releases from Squinternet Larnia, a couture inspired collection with outstanding hats, all lined up on mannequins in the centre of the store. I loved the bold color of the Romina Gown and Hat, and the shoes shown in the vendor poster, that I did not recognize.

Lo and behold the shoes are by Adam n Eve, the style is called Samara and the shade is called plum, a rich deep pomegranate color. The shape of the shoes is superb, with a rounded toe and substantially high heel.

Babette Ultsch's footwear is always sexy, always well made, and often irresistible. Kitties Lair introduces these Zara Sandals at Footwear Expo, and they should be on your must have list. Zara is a double t-strap sandal with signature heart buckle and baked shine finish. The shoes are available in a number of colors and a few yummy metallic, the shoes come with a HUD for skin color matching, which is pretty easy to use, multiple nail polish options, and even the choice of making the heel and sole of the shoe colored or chrome. StyleCard: Double Dose of Nardcotix

Nardcotix has a number of releases planned for the Footwear Expo, here are two, the Cerra Booties and the Eva Slingbacks. Nardya Rousselot has certainly been busy getting these ready for us, she has a great sensibility for making the type of shoes I would happily wear in first life! The Cerra Booties for example are an ankle height boot in rich leather with the addition of studs and zippers to give them a bit of spirit. Ever practical Nardya offers up this boot with multiple wear options to accommodate pant legs, or spare an attachment point.


The Eva Slingback is a great retro shoe updated in several attractive snakeskin options. The shoe is set upon a stacked wood heel and buckles attractively at the ankle. The real charm of this otherwise classically styled shoe is the sculpted bow wrap of the toe, another really special must have sort of shoe that bares an exotic mix of texture and practical style!

Moody Romance

Lingerie and stilettos have a tendency to gravitate toward one another, and in the virtual world, where certain luxuries are hard to live without, pairing sexy footwear with lingerie usually leads to the taking of pictures. Perhaps it was only natural then that a very special piece of furniture find it's way into the mix, setting the mood and creating some of my favorite blog snaps in recent memory.

Stiletto Moody has released some additional and enticing new textures for my favorite BARE Lauren shoes, a second color set full of punchy brights and hot rich shades, a trio of metallic flecked 'Diamante' finishes, and even a series of remarkable animal inspired textures, Alligator and Leopard, a visit to the SM Boutique will be filled with high-heeled eye candy and difficult decisions. Another new style in the BARE Collection is the Elizabeth shoe, similar in flavor to the Lauren but with a wide zippered ankle 'cuff' instead of the more demure ribbon wrapping of the Lauren.


Here is just a taste of these latest looks, from top to bottom, BARE Elizabeth in Silver Diamante, BARE Lauren in Green Alligator, and finally the red hot BARE Lauren in Blood Leopard (that includes 3 clever variations). Making all of it come together so beautifully can almost always be credited to the inspiration of the opposite sex, and in this case he would be the creator of this most incredible animated chaise, Rogan Diesel, whose Diesel Works Debutante Chaise (shown here in black), is just filled with sexy, sweet, and very alluring poses. I have owned pose filled modeling chaises before, this by far is my favorite, both for the quality and variety of the poses and the simplicity of use. It is also pretty attractive as a piece of furniture, and comes in a few very appealing colors.

I am a huge fan of Donna Flora, the clothes are incredibly unique and well drawn. Recently Donna Flora creator Squinternet Larnia collaborated with Erpla Prieto of Periquita Shoes to create the Bella Donna footwear collection, a beautiful range of shoes with Jewelry accents.

The Latina Outfit from Donna Flora comes complete with footwear and a rosette adorned chignon hair piece to be worn with hairbase skins, making this a complete outfit worth investing in. It has been a very crazy few months for me, and I have neglected my 'Toes' terribly. I previously reviewed quite a few great styles from this pair, here are two more that are hard to resist.

StyleCard: Pick Your Poison

I love a good collaboration! So much negativity around lately with creators hurling accusations and dmca allegations at one another, it is nice to find a pair that have combined their creative talents to produce something truly special. Squinternet Larnia, Donna Flora, has garnered some great attention lately for her spectacular dresses and collectible jewelry, at least I seem to be collecting a ton of it. She wanted to take her jeweled creations and make them into footwear fabulousness, and it seems she found the perfect partner to embark on this project with.

Erpla Prieto, Periquita Shoes, has been making her wonderful and quirky sculpted shoe-ness for a while now. It seems to me that this was a match made in fashion heaven, and the four styles created by this pair do not disappoint. The Bella Donna Poison shoes are jewelry for the feet, with amazing detail and elegant style.


These foot-in-shoe dazzlers come with a HUD that naturally allows you to custom match your skin tone and select toenail polish color. Though using the custom color selector for your skin tone is simple enough to figure out, matching your tone can be a bit tricky and might take a few minutes using a color palate window and light/dark slider bar, but you can lock in your matches with a save feature that is very handy.
